  • Smoke rises from a formerly forested area devastated by the Blue Ridge Complex wildfire, 39 miles northwest of Jordan. The fire, which started July 10, has burned over 3,034 acres and is 85 percent contained. The cause of the fire is unknown.

This photograph of a 3-and-a-half-year-old grizzly bear was taken recently by a remote trail camera in the Belt Mountains. The camera was installed by Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologists, who were using it in a wolf monitoring survey.
