Don’t miss final Bowhunter Education Course this year

This year’s last Central Montana bowhunter education class will be held at the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Lewistown Area Resource Office near the airport on July 13-15 and 20-22. There will be a field day at the Hanging Tree Archery Range for both students who complete the classroom course and those that complete the online course. The classroom times are 6:30–8:30 p.m. each evening, and the field day will be from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, July 23.

Students will need to register online at www.fwp.mt.gov. Click the “Education” tab, and then click on “Hunter Education.” Scroll down to “Find a Class or Field Course, click and select “Register for a Bowhunter Education Classroom Course.” Students can find the class using the 59457 zip code. Classroom students will need to register before July 12 and pick up their training manuals from the entryway of the FWP office. Complete the training manual questions prior to coming to class.

Online students must successfully pass the online test and print out the Field Day Qualifier Certificate. Students should bring the certificate, as well as a picture ID, to the field day as this is their “ticket” to participate.

All students must bring a bow with arrows to the field day to demonstrate their proficiency.
