Barbara Jean Baker

Barbara Jean Baker, age 79, passed away peacefully Nov. 4, 2017 at the Central Montana State Nursing Home. Barbara was born Jan. 23, 1938 in Denton, Montana to Robert and Mildred Osburnsen. She grew up in the Central Montana area. She graduated from Fergus County High School in 1957. She attended beauty school in Great Falls, where she met Paul Pavlak. They married in Lewistown on Nov. 15, 1958.

Paul was in the Air Force and they were stationed in England, Arizona and Texas. They had six children together. The family settled down in Lewistown in 1966. Barbara worked various places in Lewistown. She remarried June 22, 1991 to Elmer Baker. Barb’s interests were crocheting, crafts of all kinds and she enjoyed cooking. 

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by two sisters, Shirley Crabtree and Carleen Huber (Ted); her children Nekola Olson (Gary), Angela Hanson (Deloy), Jennifer Rikala (Ward), Michael Pavlak, Lorena Spoja (Bob), Rachel Jessen (Tom); and her grandchildren Eric, Lance, Erin, Ryan, Chase, Randi, Morgan, Ethan, Monroe, Thomas, Jordan and Ava. She had six great-grandchildren. 

The family would like to acknowledge Barbara’s long time friends, Mickey Dunlap and Cindy Glidewell, for their support, and also acknowledge the Central Montana State Nursing Home for the great care they provided.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 at Central Montana Crematorium in Lewistown, Montana.
