For the past 40 years, Montana has ranked in the top five in most suicides per state. This staggering statistic continues to alarm Rick Wright, a retired school psychologist.
“Our suicide rate is alarming, and it is increasing,” he said. “Something has to be done.”
No stranger to the subject, Wright has talked with troubled teens for 38 years and also had a wife who struggled with depression and suicidal tendencies. The issue is real, Wright said, and it’s important for people in the community to educate themselves on how they can make a difference.
